Friendship Ministry
The St. Mary’s Friendship Ministry visits our parish family who are Homebound or reside in a Senior Living Facility. Our Friendship Ministers visit the homebound preferably in pairs, sharing the love and mercy of Christ by sharing smiles and building friendships.
Too many of our parishioners have neither family nor friends to visit with them. Their only human interaction may be with medical professionals and caregivers. Loneliness, and its accompanying depression, is one of the greatest obstacles facing many people today.
Please consider giving of your time and help spread the joy of Christ. Volunteer opportunities are very flexible and dependent on the amount of time you have available to visit, whether it be weekly, biweekly, or even monthly.
To Volunteer:
To volunteer please join the Friendship Ministry on Flocknote, or contact Donna Pierce (contact info on right). In addition, Friendship Ministers must complete both of the following diocesan requirements. Please begin this necessary paperwork ASAP.
- Submit to the parish office the completed Background Screening forms.
- Take the Diocesan Safe Haven Training.
